Joomla 1.5 – Onyen authentication login replacement

To those of you experimenting with Joomla 1.5 or thinking of using it in the future, I have hacked the code to allow for front-end and back-end login to Joomla using the following onyen authentication web service created by Todd Lewis at: https://onyen.unc.edu/cgi-bin/unc_id/authenticator.pl

If any of you would like the onyen authentication code for Joomla 1.5, I hope to have it published soon, but if you can’t wait then just let me know.

In the near future I will also be implementing code to register users with a Joomla site using this same onyen authentication web service, so stay tuned.

Joomla 1.5 – rdaddphp plugin (file include)

For those who are experimenting with Joomla 1.5 and have tried the legacy rdaddphp mambot with it, it needs a little tweaking.  This mambot (or plugin in 1.5) allows you to include php, javascript, html, etc within your content articles.  This can be useful if you do not wish to spend the time trying to rewrite one of your php forms (for example) into a joomla component.

I have modified this plugin to work with Joomla 1.5 and a copy of it can be found at: http://www.unc.edu/~pgale/unc_webmaster_wiki_files/plugin_addphp.zip

Note: For this plugin to work you must have both this plugin enabled, as well as the ‘System – Legacy’ plugin.

cheers
