2015 September Presentation

Carolina CloudApps is a ITS-provided platform that allows UNC-CH students, faculty, and staff to develop and host web applications without having to manage the behind-the-scenes infrastructure.  ITS maintains and patches the programming languages, web servers, and operating system so developers can focus on writing their applications.

The Carolina CloudApps has two environments available to the University community: 1) individual, self-service space and 2) department/project space.  The individual space is great for learning a new programming language, hosting personal web applications, or just testing other applications or features.  Individuals can get 3 applications containers each with 512MB of memory and 2GB of disk space for free.  The department/project space works identical to the individual space except it is not tied to one person.  Departments and projects can request more resources, if needed, for their applications.

Next Carolina CloudApps Presentation

The Carolina CloudApps folks will be presenting at the 2015 Fall CTC Retreat on October 25, 2015.  If you were unable to attend this presentation, the October presentation will cover at least some of the topics that were discussed as well as any new information about the platform.
